Default Beginning of Winter Report on Oconee

Kowboy and I fished Oconee today. He pushed jigs out of the front and I long lined jigs out of the back. The water was 53 degrees when we began and got up to 56 degrees. The bite had definitely slowed since the rain and we finished the day with 16 good fish. We both caught fish on acid rain and popsicle jigs. We fished in 20-23 FOW and marked tons of fish. The water clarity was as good as it was when we fished last Tuesday. If the weatherman is right that will change by the end of this week. Kowboy caught a 14.5 inch crappie which was the best fish of the day.

One of these days I'm going to find that "Red X" that's out there. Way to go guys. Think I'm going to take the next few weeks off.

Hi Bush Wacker. Glad to see you posted. Oconee is not to hard to figure out. You just need to find the fish. But then again, it will humble the best fisherman out there.

You know why you can't find it? You haven't looked under your boat! C'mon man, we keep 16 and you keep 25 by yourself. What's up with that? I told my wife to get me a chain for Christmas so I could attach my boat to yours. She said it wouldn't help. He would still catch more fish than you do. I started to punch her but then I realized she was telling the truth. It hurt my feelings so bad.

I can tell you where it ended. It ended at the Sugar Creek bridge as of yesterday at 4:30. 3 inches of rain here last night. This is a dynamic situation. I'll tell you something else. There seems to be some question regarding the veracity of fishermen as a group. That means they are prone to take liberties with the accuracy of the information they provide. I have made it my life's work to try to change that ugly stereotype. I am man enough to take on this challenge. With your help and prayers we can reverse our sullied reputation.

Good to meet you also. You will figure it out. We have all been there. CDC is a great resource. It is good to see more and more crappie fishermen. There have been several newbies on this site in the past month or so. I hope you will report your good days along with your bad days as it helps us all. I have had my share of "humble pie" since I started crappie fishing.
