Default Some pics from my 1st day fishing with my Helix10 DI/GPS.

Rickie and I set up the boat with the DI transducer and "no-donut" puck on the da ducer apparatus. I don't use my front unit 20% as much as the console unit, new 1199, so transducer on the Terrova was never considered.

I went to an area where I do a lot of crankbait trolling close by and I knew it was covered up in large stumps right on the edge/top of a steep break. The crappie weren't there but I was more interested in making sure I was happy with the Helix10 and my set-up. Thrilled would be a better term.

Keep in mind these pics have been blown up from the small size they were on my phone. The picture clarity on the Helix is amazing, much better than any of the 2 788s, 2 898s, 998, and current 1199 I have owned.

Here is the same stump on 2D:

Since I'm barely capable of turning on a computer, resizing the pics on my phone to e-mail is not my strong suit. Rickie has the same pics so maybe after he gets out of the deer shooting-box, he can clear them up for me.

To say I'm impressed with the Helix 10 doesn't come close to saying how happy I am with it.

Thanks Cuz. I knew you could bail me out.

One more thing, I LOVE the red track mark. The direction pointer could be a little darker but bearable.

BTW, I wouldn't be making those tight turns dragging 10 cranks behind the boat.

I'm impressed, looks good to me. Of course I wouldn't expect any different, since you had Rickie helping on the install .

    Yes.
The only set-up changes I made from what Rickie had set up initially was on the LakeMaster menu for lake offset and depth colors. I was just switching back and forth from DI to 2D split screen with the map. I'm starting to feel the same way about the LakeMaster cards as I am about my Terrova, I would quit fishing if I had to go back to my old ways of doing things.

I did have one issue that ended up making me look like I had egg on my face--I was trolling along and thought since I was in the boat by myself and I was on the front deck, I would shut off the 1199. When I went back to the Helix, I had lost my waypoints! What did I do to lose my danged waypoints? I pushed all the buttons that I thought might solve the issue but nothing helped. A call to Rickie would do it. About the time he answered, I realized what I had done! I had turned off my link to my waypoints, the 1199. I remembered him saying since the units were networked, he would only put them on the 1199 to keep me from having duplicates of all of them. I'll probably just deal with the duplicates and load the waypoints onto the Helix also. It would do my heart good.
