From what I have gathered (reading in other forums) this chirp technology, as it presently stands) doesn't benefit the shallow water fisherman. All for R & D....hope this technology gets better.

That is very Very VERY incorrect.. The chirp technology shows walleye on bottom more defined as the target separation is soooooooo much better. Hope people learn how to use it and understand it before the run it down.. Do you really think they would push this technology if it didn't work? You have three types of chirp. In shollow water, high is what you want to use...

    Hope this helps..

Before you shoot the messenger note that I posted from "reading experiences from other forums" they found the technology didn't work for them any better than using traditional means of acquiring a signal in shallow water...the OP (post 13) in the link talks about 10 feet or less. This is but one quote from one individual who has experience. I have none. Granted, he was relating to the chirp technology in regards to an Elite 7 setup. As a representative of Lowrance, I assume you are in the know about these things and can shed some light on this so as to keep folks afloat.

If you go to the "sticky" on the forum I linked to, it gives a very detailed description about chirp technology. One finally note...if your interested in some hands on experience and comparison with Lowrence technology do a search on that forum with the author being "Fishton". Very well versed...Shane you probably have heard of him.

There are other instances from the forum that would substantiate my comment...my intent was not to steer anyone in the wrong direction.

After doing some extended research on my part it appears that this chirp technology is a good thing, really cleans up the clutter and does help in separation of fish. Looks like a person needs a Hub for it to work.
