Lake Jessup got off to a good start and if the wind hadn't picked up I think it would have been a 3 star day. WT 73*....soldier creek and black hammock area.

Think I'm gonna go over there when spawn sets in and jig the banks where all the bullrushes/cane grows.
Have a friend that told me of a time in his youth, he and his father did that and loaded up on em ................

Jessup is overlooked a lot cause the fish don't seem to get as big as other places....don't know why.....they're fat and healthy....maybe it's the overpopulation of gators.....The soldier creek area runs 4 to 8' deep and no snags to worry about....would make great place to pull or push......the mouth of the creek looks like a great place to jig......best lake ever to get out of the wind also..... we only took a couple of poles and some minners and just flipped the banks etc. I'm sure if you hit the open water and covered some ground you'd get a limit easy......mostly 10 to 11+"...... I think my 1 1/2 star rating was a little unfair....it wasn't the lakes fault we didn't take enough equipment and the &*&%$ wind was howling!
