Fishing lake Talquin this time of year is one of the best times to catch large crappie. The crappie are in the middle of the lake (Out from Ingrams and Boy Scout) in 18 - 22 foot of water. Best way to catch is longline Trolling using double 1/16 Heads and curley tail jigs (Bubblegum, Acid Rain). Another option is to use 1/16 Head and either 1 or 2 #7 pieces of lead about 14 inches up from the hook. Troll anywhere from .9 to 1 MPH.......Hint: Look for other boats and if you see birds diving........Stay away from them.......stripes and they will ruin your day. This is the size fish you will catch.....24 in a 5 Gallon Bucket. Largest on top is almost 15 inches long.......Fish will stay in open water for next month.....normally.

Are stripers pretty easy to target on Taliquin? Never caught one, if I go up I'd like to catch one just to say I've caught one.
Nice catch Curtis, I hope I can do that good today on Crescent but from the reports I've been getting it may be out of the question.
Thanks for the info, may have to give that a shot.
Wish I was there. You in the BG contest.
