that may be a tough day for you but for many its not bad. I wish I had the shallow/small waters mojo you seem to have.

I fished Cotaco Creek today from 7:30AM till around 2:30PM. Tough day, I managed half a limit with around the same number of short fish tossed back. All were caught using a black and white (tuxedo shimmer) Bobby Garland on a 1/16oz jig head, single poling laydowns and brush. Fish were everywhere from 2 to 14 feet deep, never caught more then one Crappie off a tree and most laydowns I found none. Water was clear with visibility down four to five feet and a temperature of 52 degrees at daylight.
Enjoy the day on the water, but never found a pattern or depth.

No secret, I just keep moving.
I watched several other anglers today tie up to a tree, drown minnows for a while, then move to a new tree. They may have fished a dozen trees today. I fished ever tree. One side going up, switched sides coming back.

DB did you try any of the sloughs near Sharps Ford ?
slabby, I put in at Sharps Ford but it was a little to windy so I didn't try them. I had hope to spend a little time dragging jigs, spider rigged through them. I was last in Cotaco Creek around this time last year, but there's a little more water this year. I suspect the sloughs have about 24 to 36 inches of water, which is my sweet spot.
Ditch, Thank you for sharing your adventures and picture with all of us. Question..... do you basket, string or cooler your fish while on the water?
I have very limited space in a kayak and I fish through the year. I have a cooler with reusable ice packs. If I'm keeping a fish it will go from the hook to the cooler on ice. That's the best way I have found to preserve the quality in the warmer months. It also keeps me from struggling with a stringer over the side of the kayak since I'm always on the move.
