I have the CM net and when fishing alone I don't extend it and it works good for netting fish by myself. When fishing with a partner it is extended half way unless the fish are real shallow then it is let out all the way.

I have both and each has it's purpose. The only problem with the ego net is that 2# fish can jump right back out of the net if you don't hold it level and move quickly.

    Default Crappie nets

Pick your own poison. I use the Crappie Masters for everything. You can handle it by yourself easy if you don't fully extend it. The handle starts out 75", and goes to 111", and then to 141". The hoop is 19".

Like was mentioned above, you can drill holes in the outer handle to the length YOU like it.

I've used the Ego rubber net for years, started using CM net this fall and love it and it can be used fully extended when you're by yourself if need be...
