Robert, I do not know much but you are welcome to go with me anytime. I have been Blessed beyond my widest dreams to have learned from some of the best longliners in Georgia that can compete with anyone in the Country. IMHO, Tournament fishing will give you the quickest learning curve. When you spend money to enter you just can not pack up and say the fish are not biting. You have to keep trying some thing new. I still try to learn something new every time I go.

I already push just not at the speed you do! Overall percentage wise, I have caught bigger fish pushing than longlining. Call me tomorrow.

Earl all kidding aside two years ago when Chuck pulled up behind my boat at West Point and gave us his hand held gps and said keep it at .8 & .9 mph and to follow him we learned more in couple of hours than in all the years I had been fishing. My grandpaw always said you don't stop learning until they shovel dirt in your face so I am still learning.

I have met some great people on this site and at the different get togethers and some have been more than generous to help us to learn. I have come along ways from the days of grandpaw taking us fishing at Jackson lake as kids. We only fished for crappie during the spawn on tree tops with homemade cane poles with minnows. And on special trips we went to Twin Bridges on Sinclair to night fish.
