    my Mississippi raising.......cornbread, lima beans, fried okra & ice tea........."country boy can survive"..........

    it had fatback.(smoked bacon).....thru it out after they were done.....only like bacon crispy....had fried sacs with the okra yesterday......

    Ray, when he said fried sac's that is crappie in cajun talk. Bruce what does that mean about the bacon thru out it?

    Looks good to me except the lima beans. Course beans make me sick as a dog, except green beans and sweet peas. Limas, red beans, navy beans, black eyed peas all get me bad. Once in a while I cant stand it no more and eat some red beans and rice or bbq beans and just pay the price. But that meal shore looks good.

    Grew up on cornbread with every meal in West Texas - love it. What you have there I could just have that by itself for dinner. Lots of butter of course. On occasion, I make a cornbread in a large cast iron casserole pan. Half the mix poured in, then fresh ground sausage and lots of cheese, followed by the other half. Looks very good Bruce - thanks for posting.

    means I throwed it out after it had done it's job of seasoning the beans.......
