I think they hatch and come out. Just an observation on my part. In the early Fall/late Summer I see them about 1/4" long in webs, never any big ones. They grow extremely fast. Really don't know (as of the moment).

Golden silk orb weaver is their true name. I have done many Kung fu moves, slaps to the forehead, and stop drop and rolls after walking into their webs.

I prefer a spider I can see as opposed to bein surprised by the web.....BUST A MOVE!!!!!!!!!!!every man, woman and child for themselves....look out!! comin thru!!!!
Spider web captured a chicken in Taiwan. Cousin's girlfriends son was there 6 months building a flight simulator and saw some of these giant spiders.
