FYI the scientist say the data doesn't justify the change.

Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks Fisheries Bureau Director Larry Pugh said the lake will continue to be monitored, but at this point nothing indicates the crappie sizes and population are suffering.
“Our data doesn’t show there is a problem,” Pugh said. “We’ll sample again this fall, like we do every year, and see where we’re at.”
As for a 12-inch minimum, Pugh said various models were evaluated and at Lake Washington it wouldn’t cause an improvement.
“We just didn’t see any yield in increased size or count,” Pugh said. “If we thought the 12-inch minimum was the silver bullet, we’d do it at every fishery.”
While current data does not support changes at Lake Washington, Pugh said anglers’ concerns will also be considered.
“We’re certainly interested in public input, but we’re going to stand behind our data, too,” Pugh said. “If we can meet in the middle, we’ll move forward.

Let the professionals handle it, don't let the loud voices of a few get in the way. Thats the reason our monuments are being taken down right now

And don't want to open to big can o worms, but the yo-yo complaint about them not being "fair" is getting old too. I don't use them but they don't bother me. When there are fish on the trees, there are plenty more staging a little further out. What constitutes 'fair" anyways?

Is having 12 poles with 3 jigs on it really "fair"? Is pulling 8 crankbaits really "fair"?

Or you could do like the wife and I. When we don't have any fish, we will keep 12 to 15 in the 8 to 10" range, after we have a few in the freezer we will keep only 10" and above. With more in the freezer we go to 12" or better, still only keeping 12 to 15 each trip. Not because we can't catch more, just want to leave some for others, mainly I don't like cleaning more that that.
