    Default Tried Another Spot Friday...

...and the bite was alot slower but it IS August. I guess for the amount of time I was there and the numbers of fish caught (albeit most were small) it is still pretty good (atleast for me) so no complaints. Anytime in August that I'm catching fish then I'm a happy fisherman.

Here's some pictures of the morning trip...

Finished the short day of fishing with 45 crappies keeping another fresh mess for a meal. Was nice fishing Friday with the cloud cover too. Had the lake to myself never seeing another boat or truck/traileer at the ramp or in the road.

With lots to do a month away from hunting season I cut the trip short to work on deer stands getting them ready to put up Saturday. Wanted to shoot the bow a little too. Not sure when I'll fish again but hopefully I'll still find a few to catch. All I can say is...COME ON FALL OF THE YEAR! IT'S HOT!!

Thanks BigDawgg...you too. I'm just hoping my daughter and her bf and my son and his wife kills something. Right now looks good. Just hope they stick around until everybody gets to hunt some.

Glad you had a good day Gabowman! What are you shooting(bow)? When does y'alls season start? Our rifle starts sat(15). Your food plot looks good. Oh yeah meant to ask you I saw one of your threads with you wearing a Tybee Island shirt. Do you go there often? How is it? The reason why I'm asking is that a buddy from work parents has a place which they rent out at TI and he says I need to go. Thanks for sharing the report and pics.

Good report Butch. It doesn't take but a few hour once the sun comes up to get real hot fast. The deer season looks like it will start out good for y'all and I hope that some good deer will step out in the open for y'all. It's always good to see some in the pics before the season starts.

With weakened shoulders I'm now shooting an Excalibur crossbow. I had all but quit bow hunting back a few years ago due to the pains of pulling back and shooting my verticle bow so I found myself fishing year round. Then I found a crossbow site and it sparked a new interest so long story short I'm back to hunting during the fall again. Our season opens with the bow Sept 12th and gun season opens I think Oct 21st (something like that). And the Tybee Island shirt? It came home with the Mrs. when she and my daughter and my wife's 2 sisters and their daughters were there a year or so ago for a bachelorette party. (I lucked out and got out of that trip.)

I got a ton of deer, but nothing with a rack like that! we plowed up our food plots last week and replanted them.
