Have never fished a slabfest but a buddy and I will be there this time around. Both of us a new to crappie fishing, but looking forward to the experience and meeting the folks. I assume the usual rules, entry fee, etc., will be forthcoming?

They will mail ya a rule book. read carefully pages 1196-1275, the rest of the 3784 pages are pretty much worthless, bunch of legal mumbo jumbo.J/K
Well, certainly be careful what wind yer following. See the first couple of posts. Slabfests tend to be a great time, long as ya dont take em too serious. More just a bunch a fellas that love to fish and shoot a bunch of BS. Chest waders highly recommended, least the ones round here anyway. Be the first Talquin trip I have made, but got no worries about havin a large time.
FishWalton,
What pages 1196-1275 says is to just show up and expect a good time. The only tournament fees will be for those that want to participate in the Fruit Jar tournament on Friday...Just a little 1/2 day tourney with a low entrance fee..$10-$20 per boat...Can't remember exactly what is was last year. No rules except that the fish have to be alive. You can fish with however many pole as you want in or out of a boat. It's all in fun so why make it complicated. The reason it took so many pages (pages 1196-1275) to say that is because we had to print it in extremely large print so Speckanator could read the fine print...Last year he ended up in Tennessee buying moonshine
