    Default Helix 5

I was told when I bought the Helix 5 that I could see my jig fall down to the fish, if so how do you get it set to do that?

You can if you are fishing close to the transducer so your jig gets in the cone
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

As long as you are in the cone coverage of the transducer, you should be able to see that on any decent DF. My HB 365 and my HDS7 both pick up the jig.
Here is a shot of not only the jig, but the fish hitting it and being reeled up to the boat. White Perch, by the way.

You have to set your 2d sonar to MAX MODE and then adjust sensitivity until u can see the jig. I use mine on MAX MODE 200khz. And then adjust the sensitivity. Clear mode is "filtered data." So the small "returns" the jig gives is filtered out. Max mode Is "unfiltered data." and that is what your want and need to see something as small as the jig.

Another thing to consider is depth. Reason being at a shallower depth......the narrower the cone.

Adjust sensitivity to see your jig first...once you see your jig you'll easily be able to tune out any noise and clearly mark fish streaks. Turn the speed up to ultra on the Helix while vertical jigging. If in weeds or over brush piles you might want to run the 200/455 split screen or take advantage of the 1x/2x zoom split in deeper water.

I wonder why HB decided to span the Chart Speed setting on the Helix with a scale of 1-9 and then ultra ... Instead of just a scale of 1-10 like all the other models ...??

lol no clue! Ulta is a bit faster than 9, however. Works great for ice fishing

Maybe "Ultra Chart Speed" sounds more technical than "Chart Speed 10" ...
