Mine doesn't do well on Truman either!

I upgraded my old lowrance to a humminbird 899ci over the winter, a month ago I purchased lakemaster great plains V5.0. Every time I've been on Truman lake the contour lines don't match up with the actual depth, even after adjusting for the 5' above normal.
I've been on LOZ a few times with it and it's within inches.
Mine doesn't do well on Truman either!
Try it without the depth offset

When they mapped tRuman it was 10ft high. Found some old post on here. You can adjust the countour lines to what your sonar is reading and it will change them for the whole lake.

Very interesting. Did you purchase that card from a retailer or Great Plains?
From what I've read, Lakemaster surveyed Truman when it was 720 feet. So for normal pool you set it -14 feet, and adjust up or down from there.
Rag is right, took me a while to figure that out....why they wouldn't adjust it in the software is anybodies guess....but great unit.
there are 2 depth offsets on that unit...one is a depth offset for navigation(adjusts contour lines-what you want to do)and one is for the transdeucer offset(real time reaout). ....i.e. if the bottom of the boat sits 10 feet deep in the water with the transduecer attached at the bottom of the boat, it would show you in 10ft shallower than you are in . ...you would offset the depth finder from the bottom of the boat(+10 ft.). itr adjusts the main depth readout you watch while trolling etc...
in the pic you posted, you are sitting in 43.4 feet of water assuming the transduecer offset is right. you are on a 57' contour....now you need to adjust the contour lines....what i do...sit at the ramp or on a large flat where the water is depth is constant for a ways in each direction if you float etc(don't do this on side of drop off)and see how much water you are in, then go to the navigation tab(hit menu 2X i believe-going from memory) and go to little US map tab across the top. then tab down to depth offset. adjust up or down until your contour line depth reads the same as the depth reading you are recieving...the contour lines will adjust right in front of you....and u r set...it will adjust the rest of the lake ...when done, the contour will read 43 feet and the readout will read 43.4'. if the depth in the upper left hand starts adjusting , you are on the wrong depth offset...
once you master that unit you will love it, but plan on taking a few afternoons to figure it out..also Doug Vahrenburgh on youtube does an awesome tutorial and he shoots it on Truman...
another thing i really like to do is highlight depth range, say i pick 10 feet +- 2 feet. that will give you all water from 8-12 feet deep. make the highlight green and then run down the lake and see all the points, humps etc lite up for the depth range you have selected...changes the way I fish... ...you will like that
