I have hydroturf from stem to stern and would do it again in a heartbeat.

I almost went with vinyl because I catfish from time to time, was worried about slime. I ended up going with carpet. I wouuld make the same decision again if I had too. Carpet not a pain like I thought it would be. Also was just going to by a horse stall mat from tractor supply and cut it to fit back of boat for a "catfish pad". They are $30 dollars. Turns out I didn't need them after all. Love the carpet.
Hydro turf all the way!!

That stuff definitely looks good!
Hydroturf is on the expensive side isn't it? especially compared to carpet. does it lay/fit well over the edges of the plywood to fold underneath? doesn't look that pliable. (is that a word?)

My dad always told me you get what you pay for!!
My rig goes thru 4.5 months of hard duck hunting, then right into crappie fishing. I never winterize my boat because its on the water each and every month of the year.
Pliable, darn tootin' its pliable. Never absorbs water, it will never freeze, and I can walk barefoot anywhere in my rig in over 100 degree heat.
It also quietens a aluminum boat very well. Yes, size and color options in hydroturf can be expensive. They do run clearance specials on colors they will not carry any longer. Also, they have their "B" stock mats. Either grey or black and in a few different cut patterns that are very very very reasonable priced.
Like I said, you get what you pay for.
