Closed out my week of fishing with a very good 2 hours of fishing at my new "Honey Hole". Caught over 70...combination shell crackers and Gills. Lots of milfoil...find the holes in the milfoil and the fish were stacked in the open areas. Used a Bison colored Trout Magnet and 2# test line. Used a JDM Tict Ice Cube Rockin' Drift 6' 9" UL spinning rod and Daiwa Certate 2000CH spinning reel. Love the equipment out of Japan. The sensitivity of the Tict Ice Cube rod is off the charts. All fish were released. Taking a few days off and will hit it again searching for some more good Gills.

Nice looking fish!!!!!
Nice catch. What is the name of the measuring board, & where can I pick one up. Thanks.
Big bull gills. Congrats.
The love for fishing is one of the best gifts you can pass along
Thanks for your comments. It is the "Hawg Trough". I bought mine at HOOK 1 Hawg Trough - Measuring Board | HOOK 1 It has two flotation strips in the back of it. You can put the flotation strips in yourself buying some small pipe insulation at a hardware store. There are other places to get them....Cabelas....Austin Kayak are a couple. To me it gives not only the length but gives a good visual of the girth size.

Our DNR gives out stick on rulers each year with size limits for the most popular fish. They come in either fresh or salt water version. I stuck mine inside a 30 inch piece of plastic gutter with one gutter end glued in. The ruler butts up to the end stop. Works good on long slender fish like walleye or pike and striped bass, and the little guys too.

Nice catches.
Went fishing with my cousin at a subdivision pond for largemouth on Friday. They were decent size, about 12-14 inches. But there were some massive bluegill in there. My cousin gotone that was easily 12 inches and well over a pound. Gonna have to go back and target them next time instead of the bass!
The "Hawg Trough" is used throughout the country most notably in the kayak bass fishing community. For many kayak tournaments in the USA it is the official measuring device. I had fishing kayaks for the past four years and it was all I took out in the kayak....just sold all my kayaks and will be getting a boat but hung on to the Hawg Trough.
