    Default Panfish break

Just had to get a break from the hustle today of taking my oldest daughter for a trap shoot. Went for a few hours and got to feel the thump on light tackle. Now off to my youngest softball game and then clean fish lol. Caught on a 1/32 poney head and black Charlie brewer 1 inch slider.

A lot of fun to make all your own lead jigs and won't be long before I am making all my plastic jig bodies. Take a kid fishing !

Know you had fun with them today. I don't envy your cleaning job.

Did you find them on the bed? Just slow retrieval? I have been doing a lot of reading on catching big bluegill and redear. Just bought some brim killers. I'm trying to catch some bigger ones. How deep were you finding them? PM if you want to. Thabks.

Yes they are bedding good Matt. 4lb line and slow steady retrieve until they thump it or run away lol. I use 6 ft rods to cast further. The 1/32 pony head gives silver flash and the paddle tail a good waddle. I have some other one inch sliders but black and silver have always been best for me. The shell crackers will eat Em too. These were off river as you can see the hybrid on top.

Thanks JW for the explination! Looks like I need to get some small black sliders and small pony heads. I still want to visit you an pour some jigs. Where did you find the components to make the spinners on the pony heads? Do you happen to have a 1/32 or 1/64 micro football head jig? That is what they use on Lake Havasue (sp?) to catch giant redear.

Beautiful mess of fish right there. And thanks for not releasing the hybrids!
