    Default Maiden Voyage

Well, after the long awaited arrival of the new boat, a week of tweaking some performance things, and mounting new hardware, we set sail on our maiden voyage on Thursday. It was a day spent learning the boat, adjusting a few more things to my liking, while squeezing in a little fishing. I vertical jigged some grass and brush, and done a little long line trolling. Fish were caught using both techniques, with jigging vegetation catching the most and the biggest fish. It was quite breezy out, but fishable. Orange and chartreuse was the preferred color combo, with Rooty Tooty 309's being the jig of choice for for the vertical jigging presentation, and Kalin curly tailed grubs in blue and chartreuse being best while long lining. Many small fish were caught and culled but I ended the day with a decent limit of keeper fish. I had mostly males, with a few spawned out females in the mix.

The first of what I hope will be many limits of crappie caught in the new ride.

Congrats on getting the first fish in the new boat. Nothing like teaching a new boat how it is done

Tim I am glad you finally got on the water with your new ride and was able to put a solid limit in the boat as well. Now if I can just teach mine to do the same it would be nice. thanks for sharing.
