The turkeys decided to take Saturday morning off so Quackrstackr called me and said lets got to the lake this afternoon.
We got to the lake and started out on some of the structure that had been holding fish and I guess it had been beat to death all day. We got down to about 2 hours of daylight left and decided to try a place we had caught some a couple of years ago. With one keeper in the box, we started trolling in less than 15 feet of water. We would pick up one here, one there, with long stretches of nothing in between. At dark we loaded up with 19 keepers, 3 nice catfish, a couple of bull gills, and one yellow. To top it all off, we didn't have another boat get near us doing what we were doing.
Made for a great afternoon.

It felt funny to be in the back of the boat for a change.QS accused me of catching all the fish.
Note that pink head with green jig body? Don't leave home without it.

Congrats. Sounds like a wonderful day with a buddy plus some crappie thrown in to boot.
Understand that funny feeling. Usually the wife is holding down the back of the boat. She says my job is steering and finding em.![]()

I thought at one point that I was going to have to drown myself in the lake to save face from a front of the boat skunk. A little gear tweakage and I finally started working on them though.
Good job Doug
