SPRING FLING @ GREEN 25APR IS OFFICIALLY CANCELLED
I'm sorry to have to make this announcement, but I cannot see where the lake would be in any decent/safe condition by next weekend, to have the event.
I will be consulting with Chucky, about the possibility of rescheduling the Spring Fling sometime in May. IF/WHEN that determination is made, a new post will be placed on this forum ASAP with the new date.
I'm also hoping that, by announcing the cancellation 6days in advance, that anyone buying provisions or renting lodgings may be able to hold off on their purchase or recoup their money, or postpone their vacation days use, or hold onto their purchases for a possible rescheduled date.

Tim .... I'm not too sure Cave Run will be fishable by May 2nd. It's currently only 4ft below flood stage, according to the COE Lake Report chart for this morning (Apr 19th). CUSA cancelled the Green River Lake event before it was even flooded as bad as it is now. I doubt Cave Run will be down enough in two weeks to even consider it for a tourney.Originally Posted by t.slabseeker

Working with Chucky to get our dates changed for the pic nic pavilion ... hoping for the 16th, but will have to work with COE & Holmes Bend before any rescheduled date can be set.
But, yeah ... we're TRYING to get the Fling rescheduled. It's just dependent upon available openings and the possibility of Green being back down to a more fishable condition.

Well ... it looks like we're going to have to reschedule the Fling to the 30th of May, anyway.
I will know "for sure" by Wednesday Apr 22nd, if not sooner, and will re-submit a volunteer/attendance thread once the date is confirmed.
That would give the lake ~ 6 weeks to get back down, give us time to get our donations in, and give anyone wanting to attend time to make plans.
Rest assured that we are doing all we can do to get this event off & running for ya'll ... given the circumstances that we have to contend with.
