    Default Greenhorn

    Hello all

I'm a recovering green carp fisherman who has recently been bitten by the crappie bug. It's bad folks! Don't get me wrong, I'm still after the Bass but they have moved down the ladder of addiction.

All this because of a custom spider rig the guy I bought my boat from gave me. Granted I've never used it, but really want to learn how.

I can catch the heck outta bass, but crappie are a totally different ball game for me. I've gotten into a few recently but I'm new and need to learn more!

Fish mainly around central Arkansas , with some trips into southeast.

Looking forward to learning here, as I see a school classmate of mine has! Ole LowePro is killin it from the looks
    Of his posts!

Nice to be here, and looking to pick your brains for info! Feel
Free to PM me or post if you wanna get in the boat and show me how to run this spider rigging game that yall seem to love so much!

    John

Welcome John. Get your wallet out, this crappie fishing is usually an expensive endeavor. At least when you start doing everything everybody on here is doing. These guys can certainly teach you how to catch em though.

You can learn ALOT from this site. I have crappie fished my whole life but was just winging it. Wen i caught em i just caught em and had no idea why or why not. Thanks to this site and all the help from everyone i now understand why im catching or why im not.... I have truely learned everything i kniw from different people on here. They can teach anyone who wants to listen and learn. Also important to keep a log of what ur catching, water temps, weather, water clarity, and water levels. I have been doing this on a calendar now for about 5 years. Its to the point now where i just match the current conditions with the conditions i have caught em in the past years and what body of water it was on and i know when and where to go to maximize my chances. Its not 100% but it helps me ALOT! Hope to see many successful post from ya, give me a shout and we can go anytime. I may learn quite a bit from u as well!

Don't do it! Throw that stuff in the trash! If the Spider bites you its OVER! Whatever you do DON'T go push double rigged minnows at .3-.5 mph. Don't Do it!

I enjoy fishing, period. I'm just really interested in how this spider stuff works! I've been catching them on jigs and or minnows and enjoy the heck out of it, just figured since I have it, might as well use it!
