    Default Gas stove question

I know when we fry foods and would put them in the gas oven, it wouldn't remain crispy. When we moved, we have an electric oven and it does. I know gas has moisture in it but had someone tell me a gas convection oven, the food will stay crispy. That true? We're looking at getting a new one and it's ALOT cheaper getting all gas. Is your house plumbed for gas? If not....that could be expensive. But anyway, To me...the electric ones also control the temp better.

Not that expensive. Few rolls of duct tape and some copper tubing. Did you forget who you was talkin to.

Gonna get a gas line run. I like a gas stovetop. I Don't put foil on anything in the oven. I want a duel fuel but the are 1700-2000.

Don, when we built our house we went with Gas stove top and electric ovens. Like G said, much easier to control temp in electric.

I think a gas convection oven is as good as it gets. And I've never had a problem regulating the temp in a good gas oven. In fact, I find they are usually truer to temp than electric ovens. As far as keeping stuff crisp, the biggest difference I've found is to make sure it's on a rack and not on a pan.
