I have a tractor that will be perfect but, lack a few attachments to duplicate what Donald does. I'm envious you got to visit his farm!
Being retired, I hope to have time to attend the get together in LA in October but, definately can't say for sure yet. But, if I do, maybe you and I and MO Slab could make it a fishing trip as well?
By the way MO, why would you move from Lafayette? I always loved that area! Heck, I should have been a Cajun, I love seafood and mudbugs! And, of course crappie!
Redge, do you garden? Or just spend all day everyday catching slab crappie?
I don't know this lake as I have never fished it but I would be glad to meet up with yall and give it a shot!

Hey Gene, I'd be interested in that as well. When it gets close, I'll need information. Thanks.

Fishnut, wife and I try to make it over to Shreveport every Memorial Day weekend for Mud Bug Madness! Lots of good Zydeco music and mudbugs, of course...maybe even a cold brew to wash it all down!

I fished Chicot Saturday morning. Not a bite between 2 of us. A friend called me this morning and said he went Sunday and caught 10. Launch and fish out of the North landing. We were fishing in the trees. He fished out in the open along the main channel. jig under a cork about 1 1/2 to 2 feet. REally, the place to be right now is Miller's Lake near Ville Platte. They have been tearing them up the last week in the trees and it won't last much longer. I'm gonna try to sneak away this afternoon and go, unless the rain stops me. This morning would be the morning to go. Overcast is always better than a blue bird day over there. The water is real clear and shallow.

Started at 2:30. Fished the trees about 2 hours. Not a bite. Switched to fishing the reeds in about 2 feet of water and hit 1 little spot that yielded 23. Kept 18. Jigs under a cork. Had a good time. I was on a long dry spell since January 1.
