    Default Why micro sd?

Anyone have a hard time dealing with a micro SD card? Can't believe how tiny these things are. They are so small that I need to get tweezers to pull it out of a Helix.

I asked the same question and had the same concern.

I was told lowrance switch because of all the trouble they have had with manufacturers and standard SD card holder/readers. Ever had an SD card not eject correctly? Lowrance has had less issues with Micro. This smaller size also allows for a double reader on all HDS locators not just the 9 and 12.

Will be a pain for me as well. All my cards are standard size. Might just keep a gen2 around to read cards! LOL

When I bought the card it looked small in the package. When I took it out I laughed at how small it was. It's less than half the size of a standard first class stamp! Heaven forbid I drop it in the gravel driveway climbing out of the boat, it will be lost forever.

I feel your pain. Buy a good case for the cards. Pelican makes an awesome case I have been using for my SD cards. Pelican 0915 Memory card case. Only problems with this case is the fact it only holds 6 micro SD cards. This is a universal SD card case so it can hold both Micro, mini and standard SD cards.

That's a great idea. Never thought about a special box for them. That way I can put them in the box in throat and not have to worry about dropping them while climbing out of the boat. Thanks.

Those Pelican cases are very nice! The Helix card access is a tight fit especially with my old fat fingers
