Default Toledo Bend Bite ON or OFF ????

Heading up to Toledo Bend this weekend . Just curious if anyone went this past weekend or heard any reports as to what the fish are doing. I figure the sacs and bass should be moving up to spawn soon but not sure with these recent fronts. Any info shared would be greatly appreciated. I will definitely let yall know how it goes. We plan on doing some bass and sac-a-lait fishing.

Haven't been since the gathering 2 weeks ago, but with all these fronts moving through I would say that it needs to stay warm for about a week to get right up there. Also it depends on how much rain we get this week to determine how dirty the water will be but I am sure you already knew that. Good Luck and the 1 fish that I did catch at the gathering was caught in 27 feet of water fishing about 18 to 20 feet deep (right off of the boat lane) and caught on a jig (Bobby Garland Bayou Booger, I also caught a catfish on the grey ghost jig that Skiptomylu had tied for me. Only caught catfish on shiners.

If I had to bet I would put my money on the bite starting the weekend right before Easter.
if I was going this weekend I would go to North Toledo Bend State Park and fish the cove to left of the landing. Water is stained and will warm up faster. There are some good points that drop to deeper water quick. That is just me and I only go to the bend twice a year and I usually lose when I bet. I sure hope where ever you go you catch a bunch!
I can't leave now; They fixen to turn on.

Thanks for the info fellas. Didn't expect to get much out of people on here but I appreciate you guys sharing. We are staying in San Miguel and I will be fishing around there so might give it a try. I just think it is hilarious that there are usually 50+ people in the Louisiana Forum but only a FEW ever has information to share....I guess no one fishes in Toledo Bend or Henderson anymore ? LOL !!! #STOPTHETROLLING

well......I by no means am an expert......but I do like to fish and I do practice....I was at toledo bend with some fine and expert fisherman...yep..some 50 people...fishing 2 to 3 days.....water was cold....windy...that was cold too...fished in 40 ft. o water...fished in 8 ft. o water......2 weeks ago the fish were not biting in toledo bend....fish caught in very, very, very few #'s.....came off the channel ledges and by a very good fisherman...you know who you are...the both of ya......I'll tell ya...the 50 people at toledo bend were some of the finest people I've ever met...so if they didn't say anything...guess they had nothing to say.....as far as henderson goes...it's not fun to fish there except EARLY....EARLY in the morning and the reports are posted as we/they go.....so yes people still fish these great bodies of God given beauty...and they report what they can....so to all who post on this website for my entertainment....a big THANK YOU......BTW...There needs to be a button that instead of saying"post quick reply"...post long drawn out useless reply...

I went to Henderson Sunday and caught one sac on live shiner 2 ft deep in 4 fow in my 19 ft grey & black Triton Fish & Ski boat........water temp was 57 deg......had a few drops of rain.....lots of boats out....no one catching.....ran across game warden twice.....invited them to visit Louisiana CDC forum......ran across CajunSlabStalker (or was that Saturday) and visited with him for a minute....after I took my boat out at the launch 2 young nice guys gave me their 3 sacs....also, at the launch before starting out, talked to some folks from Minnesota who love to crappie fish.....told them about CDC and they took pictures of the jigs I use and were going to Academy to get some....

not much to report but I had a fun day....quit around 4.....

Lots of places to fish out of San Miguel. I figure they're staging right now so you're going to have to find them - which is big fun for me. After launching, take a left at the first point way before the main boat lane, then past Wildwood Resort close to the bank. You'll run into short standing timber close to the bank. That's Green Acre's - try there, it's mid depth. You'll also see a small cove where it's shallow off to the left.

Also, run the main boat lane back out to the lake and turn into the lane running into North Toledo Bend State Park. Try the small island off to the left, also the artificial reefs set up off the boat lane - you'll see the buoy's (PVC pipe).

If you turn right after launching into the boat lane, there are a couple creeks off to the right with short standing timber. Across one of the creeks (can't remember which one) on the left of the boat lane is a large standing timber. About 20 feet west of that tree is a large hole with a brush pile in it.

It doesn't bother me one bit about sharing information, let us know if you have any questions.

Think about joining us at San Miguel next year at the gathering.
