    Default So nice out today

At least in the greenhouse. Temps hit 30 this morning but the greenhouse went down to 45. I spent about an hour and a half in there working my tomato plants and it got down right nice. Like a tropical paradise, I mean with all the green things growing and the sun shining I could close my eyes and dream. The lowest number is the temp in the green house. 80 degrees.

My seedling tomatoes are growing nicely and are ready for the garden I only need this cold to end.

I even get to sample some roma tomatoes now and then.

The fig trees are also growing great and it's just about time to transplant them.

The onions are looking great after an almost disastrous beginning. The got hit by a fungus that almost done them in. I hit them good with a copper spray and then another fungicide. It seems to have fixed the problem.

And then when I finished my hard labor in the luxurious greenhouse I went in an sat down to lunch. Love my wife.

Now I'm just about ready to kick my feet up and rest from all the hard resting I did in the greenhouse.

Thanks a bunch for sharing Gene, I really enjoyed it. I just harvested my onions and replanted the spring crop. I'll get around to posting it soon. I am almost ashamed to post gardening stuff though with a master like you in our midst

Mr Gene, did your plum trees make it? I've got my fingers crossed on mine. The buds are still green but they have been through a couple of 10 degree nights.
    Tell'em I'll be there.

Excellent post Gene! You know I loved it. Absolutely fantastic. Can't believe you're sampling fresh tomatoes right now. I would have had some sliced up on that plate of yours. Thanks so much for posting.

I don't have any plum trees, mostly figs and one peach and one nectaplum. The peach tree is 3 years old and is loaded with fruit and flowers already. The nectaplum was planted last month and is just starting to put on flowers. It will be in full bloom sometime next week. I will have to remove most of the fruit from it but I hope to leave a couple to taste. It is supposed to be the best tasting stone fruit ever. It's a new hybrid. I hope all of your trees make it. It been unusually cold for you guys also.
