Fiberglass boats are a whole lot stronger than you're giving them credit for. I've see fiber boats often on the Hatchie on 54 hwy and Reelfoot. You can knock a hole in an aluminum too. I used to not want fiberglass either until I saw some LA guys running mudmotors on glass boats.

They are easy to repair if you do crack it. You can fix it in your driveway, most guys can't weld aluminum.

They're quieter and ride better. My next boat will be glass, but I'll still keep my aluminum boat too. Each has their place. I grew up 2 miles from the Hatchie and have spent plenty of time on it. When the water is low in the summer most of it isn't useable anyway. When water is normal Id have no worries putting a glass boat in it.

Reelfoot, well it's just an idle lake imo and glass is just fine to idle.
