Default West TN Lakes not to fish in a fiberglass boat

OK guys, I have a fiberglass bass boat that I fish out of. I have read to stay off of Reelfoot Lake with a fibergalss boat and I have had people tell me to be very careful on Glenn Springs lake because of stumps and rebar sticking out. Do you guys and gals have any other suggestions of lakes to keep off of in order to not damage my boat. My plan this year is to fish primarily West TN lakes and the TN river. Herb Parsons is the closest TWRA lake to me and its pretty safe in a boat but Im the kind that likes to explore so any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

I too have a bass boat. I plan on fishing Reelfoot and State lakes close to me. I have never fished Reelfoot but that will not stop me, the south end is deeper water from what i understand. We have several State lakes in west Tn also. I might also add,for the last 2years i fished a no wake private lake. Idling around is no biggie to me. Gives me a chance to see structure while doing so.

It looks to be 10 TWRA lakes in West TN plus Reelfoot. I have not been able to fish alot for the last 23 yrs due to having a handicapped child who passed away in 2010, I fished mostly from the bank due to her. Im just getting back to having a boat again and its about time I started exploring again. We had great times bank fishing but I grew up on Sardis Lake in MS on a boat with my dad mostly and back in the day Wolf River was much deeper. Im not putting my boat in Wolf River its way to shallow and has trees all in the river. Anybody ever put there bass boat in the Hatchie River around Hwy 100 or Bolivar. Ive been along time getting this boat and I dont want to damage it being stupid.

I am sorry to hear of your loss my friend. I don't mind driving an hour or so to a nice fishing lake I would never put my glass boat in the Hatchie, no need too as many as we have close by us. just my two cents.

I am sorry for your loss too, hope she got to be with you while bank fishing. Those are some great times. I can't tell you much about TWRA lakes, I just got started back in crappie fishing after 25 years. I can tell you this Kentucky Lake has changed a lot sinse I fished before. Places I used to run you can walk in now. I got a Lakemaster card for birds and they really help as far at running and finding holes I never new was there.

Reel foot is my home lake and I see fiberglass boats all the time you just have to be really careful especially if you don't know the lake.

Lake Graham near Jackson is full of stumps but has a bouy lined channel on the main lake side. It is also a no wake lake.Be careful out of the channel, most of the stumps are just below water level

All the TWRA lakes are no wake idle speed only so a fiberglass boat is not an issue on any of them. Good polarized glasses to see all the stumps just under the surface and a good trolling motor are all you need. The Hatchie???? In a fiberglass bassboat??? Please record video and post it later so we all can enjoy that "hold my beer and watch this moment"

Yeah I grew up in Bolivar and have ran that river more than I would like to admit, I would NOT put a fiberglass boat in there. EVER. It is full of tree tops that have fallen in the river and it gets really shallow sometimes. I have walked across the river in the summer time and my head never went under the water. be carefull
