    That's great. We didn't get more than an inch so it shouldn't mess it up too bad. I will be there Saturday.

    Hi! New to the forum- glad to see some fishing reports from Lacassine as I was wondering... my grandparents had a camp off Hwy 14 right past the bridge and we slayed the crappie in our pond off the main bayou every February/March. Thinking about trying them there this coming weekend. I live on the Westfork in Westlake and pulled a couple nice slabs from a treetop last week...

    If this is the same pond we are almost related...lol. You must be Steve and Jane's son. My grandfather and your grandfather were best friends and your uncle Russel and me were best friends back in the day. My family had control of the pond until my father quit farming the land and that is when your grandmother Mrs. Dutch took control of the pond. I spent many a day out on your grandfather's house boat. If you want to learn the bayou get with your uncle Russel. He knows all your grandfather's honey holes. Your Grandfather Charles was the Lacassine crappie master. He was the one everyone tried to pot lick. Do you know what happened to the mounted crappie your grandmother had? I believe it was almost the state record.
