I have been out on frigid days this winter when the bite was barely noticeable and tried nibbles. I did seem to get more perceptible taps with the nibbles but noticed many of those taps that ended in a hook up were bluegills and even a few massive golden shiners. There were a few small crappie thrown in. I then switched to bare hook tubes and caught just as many but most were not felt and were hooked by slowly lifting the rod tip and feeling the weight. If it was so cold that I needed to wear gloves I might use them again so I can actually feel the bite.

I use Chartreuse and White. First thing I do when I get them home is pour the whole bottle out on a large piece of aluminum foil, separate them, then cover with Garlic Salt, roll'em around a little, and then back in the jar. That's where the foil comes in handy. Just fold up and make a "V" and pour right back in the bottle with all the Garlic Salt. THEY WORK!!!
I fish 7 days a week; some days for fish, everyday for men.

They do SERIOUSLY work. Fished on a small hair jig, the nibble will out catch the bare jig 5 to 1 any day of the week. I and friends have even out fished live bait with the jig and nibble. I don't leave home without them...

I am a believer in the fact that nibbles and Gewbers and all attractants are not really attractants but instead a bite enticer. Meaning the fish will seem to bite longer or more than once to get the taste in it's mouth. That extra time gives you time to set the hook. I use nibbles and Gewbers. I posted my results in the Gewber forums for Texas. I use nibbles as often as I use Gewbers. Both work well in getting the fish to bite longer.

I do believe they work. I still have two of the bait pumps and use the nibbles pumped into tubes. I also inject Slab Slobber into tubes. Anything else i usually just use a spray or nothing. I've watched too many underwater camera films of Crappie feeding to think that they cannot hurt and might help.
