I find the nibbles are too hard to keep on the jig- I typically tip jigs with 1/2 of a GULP! waxie

I bought some Crappie bites and some Gulp maggots at the local Wally last week after reading about some you guys success with them .
Saturday evening I tried them out at a local water Resevoir without even a nibble .
Today I got a chance to fish a private pond I get to fish every once in while .
I caught a nice crappie right off just using a chartreuse micro jig under a weigted float. Then I fished 15-20 minutes without another bite . Then I rembered the crappie bites .i threaded one on the bend of my jig and on my next cast , caught a nice bluegill . Using the crappie bites I caught three more crappies and six nice bluegills . I'm convinced the bites helped. A few times I would cast out and just let it sit with the wave motion the only movement and would catch fish .
The big surprise was when I hooked into a monster carp on my 5' St Croix Triumph UL and 4# P-Line . Would have landed it if I'd had a net , but as I grabbed hold of my line to turn the carps head to try and slide my hand under its gill plate , it flopped and broke my line at the knot . I'm guessing the carps weight at around 12-14 lbs. A hoot on the UL . Here's a couple pics of the biggest gill and crappie .
I'll be keeping a jar of bites in my tackle bag from now on . Gillchaser

Not a fan of the nibbles, but definetly will be trying the Gulp minnow in the future!

Thanks , I tried them again this evening at the town pond . Nothing , but I tried other things too and still nothing . I've only caught three fish out of that pond this year . Its fairly shallow and I'm beginning to think the cold may have killed some of the fish in there or they're all in a deep hole out in the middle out of casting distance . . Going to another lake tomorrow , I'll be giving them another try . I figured they won't hurt . Although the Gulp baits leaked in my tackle bag and I had to leave my bag in my truck bed to air out . Was stinking up the house . Gillchaser

I seen your from the south. Yes the fish will go to either deep creek channels and suspend or suspend over deep water basin areas. ESP those with mud bottoms that have insect life. Or if you still have any standing weeds. They would be on the deep side of the weed end where it drops off into deeper water.

I have used nibblers for a while. Now you have me curious about the gulp 1" minnow. How do you use it normally and what would you say is the best color? I think I am going to give them a try.

I swear by The Gulp Alive baits!! I have caught crappie and bluegill on them easily and carry them all the time in case I can not buy minnows. I use the small (1" and 1.5") for bluegill and bigger for crappie (2"-3.5"). I keep all mine in air tight leak proof containers made by Lock-n-Lock. They work great to keep from spilling that foul smelling but sweet juice. The containers they come in are not that good and leak.

Slab, maybe you could broker a deal with Berkley and get some sponsor samples to give away to let people try them. They are a great product!!!
