Some more info:
The BowMountLift mounts to Terrova and Risptide ST motors without any drilling/modifications to your motor. The bracket slips around the shaft and sits on the metal collar of the main housing. There are two other bolts on the bottom that secure the bracket in place using the two little indentations on the bottom of the housing. That's all there is to mounting the bracket.
At the bottom of the shaft there is a stainless split shaft collar that clamps around the metal part where the shaft connects to the motor. Two bolts and that is done. A stainless cable connects to the shaft collar and a spool on the motor and provides the lifting/lowering capability.
A momentary toggle switch then needs to be mounted somewhere in your boat. This is usually going to be at your steering console, or near your stern if you are running a tiller. Run wires from one of your trolling batteries to the switch, then from the switch to the lift motor and you are done with the install. The kit comes with everything you need to do the install except the wire.
Stow/Deploy - This product does not deploy or stow the trolling motor, so that is still requires manual labor. I deploy the motor at the dock after I launch and then stow it when I get back to the dock before trailering. All other lift/lowering operations while you are fishing are done with a simple up or down on the toggle switch which lifts/lowers the motor in about 3-4 seconds. When I'm ready to run, I start my big motor and by the time the RPMs on my motor wind down enough to put it in gear, I can have the trolling motor up and ready to run. On the flip side, simply lower the motor and start fishing again.
As I mentioned, this lift only moves the trolling motor straight up and down, so it requires that you run with the trolling motor in the vertical position which is initially awkward for most. I was a bit worried about it at first, so I tested the lift (with a few of my close friends) for about a year to validate the cable strength before I was comfortable selling the unit to the general public. I've crashed through many wave as hard as possible trying to break it and have not been able to do so.

I am in the process of building a lift for my troll motor I have installed aft that I use the ™ for a quick reverse. It is a 40# MK endura. I can remote steer it and remote power it, but have trouble lifting it out of the water because it is mounted on the racks and I have to lean over the rail to lift.
I ordered a low rpm Hi torque used gear head motor from Ebay. It should be here Friday. It is 50 rpm, so I may have to do a sight beer reduction if I cannot pulse the motor slow enough to obtain a reasonable lift rate. I plan to use stranded wire cable (lawn mower throttle cable) and use a weed eater spool for the lift wire reel drum. I don't know how I will mount it yet.
I saw the motor used in the link above on Ebay a couple a weeks ago when I was looking for a gear head.
I will look closer at this mount when the internet stabilizes. Keeps crashing here.
Good idea.

Didn't know about this gadget. I have in in the planning stages though. Gonna try to use this motor. It should lift the endura #40, but it may be a little fast. I could only calculate on a no load speed. Not many specs provided.

TOM,THEY HAVE ONE THAT IS 4.5 RPM,THE ONE LIKE U GOT IS MUCH LIKE THE MOTORS I USE FOR MY BOUY WINDER. I AM USEING ONE TO MAKE A LIFT FOR MY XI5,THE GUY DO NOT MAKE A LIFT FOR XI5 YET AND I WANT ONE NOW,COLD IN MY SHOP SO ONLY WORK A LITTLE TODAY BUT DID ENOUGH TO SEE I CAN MAKE ME ONE

You got a 4.5 rpm one? I didn't see it. I got this because it was cheep. Experiment before I spend money on a good one.
I made a lot of stuff with the gearmotors from power wheels. Clyde the fishing robot had several power wheels and also window motors.
