1/24 oz crappie jig,With Arkie red/chart,Black/chart crappie tubes. We have been experimenting with putting our crappie tubes in coffee grounds the night before fishing. A friend has been catching smallmouth on our local river with coffee tubes. If this worked on smallmouth should work for crappie. Will try to get a pic of crappie tubes in these ziplock bags. A local fishermen told me when I pulled up to the ramp it was to cold for fish to bite

A local officer pulled up as I was taking my boat out of the water. Saw the bags of coffee tubes on the deck of the boat.Said what you got in the bags? I said Arkie crappie tubes in coffee grounds. He said ya Right!! He took a sniff said that is coffee grounds!! I said you want a mess of crappie? He said yes and some of those 1/24 oz jig heads and some arkie coffee tubes

Arkie tubes with coffee grounds. Crappie seem to hold on longer. If coffee tubes work for bass.Should work on crappie.Arkie tubes with salt seems to work better than tubes without.

Leave it to Jackie to re-invent crappie fishing. I've always said Jackie can catch fish, any kind of fish he wants to, some people just have that innate ability. He studies them probably as well as anyone I know and gets creative in his approach when necessary. He consistently catches fish on Greers Ferry and, in my opinion, it's one of the toughest lakes to crappie fish. Good job Jackie. I sure hope those were wild quail, I haven't seen a covey of wild quail in so long it's real depressing. I grew up quail hunting, and my dad, in addition to being a businessman, was a professional dog trainer.
