I'm sorry I fell in with ofishlbizzness. I should be made to fish all your brush piles to rid those old limbs that you get hung up on. Then you could fish all day worry free!

Obama's latest plan is to tax us per brush pile visited.

Brtettw best weedless hook that I use and works every time is when the hook is inside the crappies mouth. Never got a hook caught in brush that way.

Talk to Grousefly & see which one of these weedless jigheads would serve you best :

Grousefly can custom make them in different hook sizes, hook styles, hook colors, weed guard colors, weedguard styles & materials, and jighead weights. He custom makes my favorite sizes ... 1/32oz & 1/16oz ballhead ... with #2 Aberdeen hooks. (most commercially made weedless jigheads have #4 or smaller hooks in those weights)

My favorite is the one on the top row, second from the right ... the Y-guard style. I use it for 99% of my jig casting, and have even used it under a 1/2oz sinker when slow drifting along a bank with deep brush.
I refer to it as "slow drifting" for the simple fact that I'm using 10ft or shorter rods, angled at 45-90deg .... rather than longer rods pointing forwards. It's kinda pseudo-spider rigging IMHO. But, I am working on getting 3 (14') outfits set up, so I can try "true" Spider Rigging and compare it to my "slow drifting" technique to see which one I prefer. I may or may not use weedless jigheads when using either of these techniques ... but, I'll definitely have one on when casting or shooting docks !!
