I'm sorry I fell in with ofishlbizzness. I should be made to fish all your brush piles to rid those old limbs that you get hung up on. Then you could fish all day worry free!![]()
Talk to Grousefly & see which one of these weedless jigheads would serve you best :
Grousefly can custom make them in different hook sizes, hook styles, hook colors, weed guard colors, weedguard styles & materials, and jighead weights. He custom makes my favorite sizes ... 1/32oz & 1/16oz ballhead ... with #2 Aberdeen hooks. (most commercially made weedless jigheads have #4 or smaller hooks in those weights)
My favorite is the one on the top row, second from the right ... the Y-guard style. I use it for 99% of my jig casting, and have even used it under a 1/2oz sinker when slow drifting along a bank with deep brush.
I refer to it as "slow drifting" for the simple fact that I'm using 10ft or shorter rods, angled at 45-90deg .... rather than longer rods pointing forwards. It's kinda pseudo-spider rigging IMHO. But, I am working on getting 3 (14') outfits set up, so I can try "true" Spider Rigging and compare it to my "slow drifting" technique to see which one I prefer. I may or may not use weedless jigheads when using either of these techniques ... but, I'll definitely have one on when casting or shooting docks !!
