Welcome from North Louisiana
ok. will do this is one of my favorite pics. He caught his first fish that day.![]()
I started taking my son out at the age of 4. At first I was nervous about it but he learned quick and I always keep a life jacket on him and I also talk safety to him a lot! We have a great time together but I will warn you. You will need patience and be prepared to leave early. My son can only take about 3 to 4 hours. But it's always worth it to watch him get excited when he hooks a fish. Bring your son and enjoy the time.

We use to run jugs to break up their boredom. We would put out jugs on the way from the launch. We would run them every hour or so. This helped on days when the fish were not biting good. It gave them a break and a chance to drive the boat.
Very nice picture!! Thanks for posting.

That is a really good picture. My little boy is 6 now and I see that I need to start getting him involved. I didn't have that when I was young so I think it will be pretty awesome for both of us. I also have an 8 year old girl but she isn't too fond of the boat. She would rather be shopping LOL.

Thanks. My worst day on the lake with him is still great. It's really just about spending time with him ! Be sure to take some pics.
Absolutely will do that. I am really looking forward to bringing him out now. That's what I really like about this board. It opens your eyes to so many things and I am learning so much.
Welcome, I fish Henderson often and it doesn't look like much will be going on there till probably late Feb mid March when the spawn starts kicking in and then the fun will begin. Love seeing those kids out fishing, to much video games nowadays. There is usually a kids event during the summer thats really a fun time, hopefully it will continue this year.
I suggest when young the young ones to make sure the weather is nice and the fish are bitting a little- even the bream to get them interested. ( them sac's can be tough at times) Have a good time and if I happen to meet you out there I will certainly try to point you in the right direction. Oh one more thing pleanty snacks and drinks help.
I haven't been on in a while - crazy busy, but welcome to the site. That picture brought me back to when my son caught his first fish. He was excited
