We found fish in 25-30 fow. Brush was better to me than suspended fish. Color and size of bait did not seem to matter. The best and most consistent color for was chart head and hot pink (super slab thingy called hot momma) from frank300. I double dipped with that mated with a black/red super slab. The other rod I ran just opposite, I used frank300 micro minnow in gray ghost and pink. I caught the #2 big fish on gray ghost micro minnow. We only hit about 70 fish all day. Luckily, our average was higher. We set out to look for isolated big fish and not play the numbers game. We caught all our fish by noon. The wind was so strong and we were on fish good enough, my 101lbs TM would not maintain. Fishers started the 250 suk and let her idel for 1 hr, controlling it and let me fish the front. I used the TM for left and right. The idel was a perfect hold, and we continued to put fish in the boat.

Thanks for posting the pic of results TC.... today was spent with my wife and daughter..so just now getting on here. We had 10 teams enter which included a team from KS and a team from MO (glad to have you guys join us). As most of you now know....the wind was awful after lunch. The morning was excellent..a little cold but no wind. For me and my partner...we fished the marina..we fished the standing timber, the towers, washunga and sarge bridge and even tried some piles but could not hold position long enough to even get the rods out and unfortunately we never got a bite or caught a fish..but i was fishing with my wife so it was a great day even without catching a fish. Several people took pictures and hopefully they will be posted in the next couple of days. I want to give a HUGE thanks to John at the One Stop in Kaw city for allowing us to hold the registration and weigh in at his establishment...guys, if you have not been in there yet, please stop in and say hi when your in the area. It means a lot that they are willing to go out of their way each year and allow us to gather there. I also want to say thanks to all the teams that showed up...it was the lowest turn out so far for Kaw but i know of 3 teams who had family issues that prevented them from making it. Again, thanks to everyone who showed..it was a great time and i hope to see each of you at the next tournament.

I think once the wind finally came up, it was worse than last year. Dstreet and I caught a ton of fish from 20-30' deep double dipping 1/4 and 1/8th oz. jigs. We kept 58 and threw back a lot. It seemed like we caught as many or more on the top jig as we did the bottom. We had been catching some nice fish off of brush that I put out last year, so we quit fishing it for awhile. I think we should have pre fished it because the size of the fish there wasn't what it was a week ago. Oh well, you live and you learn. We caught quality fish about everywhere we went, but not the 2 lbers we were looking for. We wanted to fish small isolated structure for bigger fish, but the wind just wouldn't allow it. The fish seemed to be holding tighter to the bottom than the previous days, but were still pretty aggressive. We fished one of Dstreets spots at the end of the day and found better fish, but ran out of time. It was good to see everyone and put a face to a name to some that I hadn't met. Had a great time and look forward to seeing everyone at Kerr or Wister.
