Thread: Anybody have a Terrova w/AP ?

Yep like TNT said I got the saltwater version 80# with I pilot, went ahead and got the foot pedal too. The unit looks like a white Terrova to me, ha!
After studying the features and the way I fish both salt and fresh water, I decided this will enhance my fishing days. When you are a weekend warrior, quality counts!!

Tomorrow I rig up the batteries and mount the motor!

If you fish the pads or shallow water, you will be glad you got the foot pedal.

You might want to consider the MK-16-02 Quick release from Amazon.
40.99 and works great.

Set you a course, I try to pick a object on the bank to head towards. Use your control to get set up then press and hold navigate button down until circle goes away around N. Then your on compass and it will try it's best to maintain that heading. Ipilot motors use GPS or Compass. When just pressed one time the N button will have a circle around it, that's when your using GPS and it has a tendency to wander. How well it will maintain heading depends on cross wind and boat speed.

advanced autopilot?

About 90% of the time I spider rig and I run on Auto pilot. Sometimes though I will run the advanced especially if it is really calm. That way the GPS will hunt for a signal and trying to stay on course it will kinda wander back and forth causing it to run a zigzag course. Seems to help some. Another thing to do is get out by yourself and practice recording and following a track. That function also works off the GPS and calmer it is the better it works. There again boat speed and wind have a big impact on how well it can stay on course.
