Can any help guide me to some things to look for at shearon harris to find the fish? Been fishing jordan but would like to find something a little closer to home.

We've been catching them in 15 feet all the way to 45. One week we caught some nice ones deep and then the next they were shallow. You just need to move around some different spots and give it a try.

Thanks to everyone for the advice. Hopefully going to try Saturday morning. I'll post a report after I get home.

If you have a FF, look for bait balls. If you don't have one, look for boats that do. They are likely to be clustered; not right on top of each other but in the same general area. The last couple of times I was there, a lot of fish were caught just NW of the main point. If you are at the dam looking up the lake, there will be a point splitting 2 major channels. The one on the right is where most of the lake is; that's the way up to the bridge. Just to the left of the point, slightly up that channel and closer to the point than the other shore, a lot of fish have been caught this winter. If you went up the main channel instead, there are some points and cove mouths on your right that are often good. I am not encouraging anyone to crowd others, but on a lot of days it is pretty obvious that they are more concentrated in some areas.

I am not giving away secret spots; these are pretty well known (unlike my secret spot at Jordan, just north of the 64 bridge - oops; did I say that out loud? )...

    I agree with OptiMystic.

Harris is really not complicated enough to many secret holes. That being said there are many areas to catch fish. I've watch people catch nice crappie from the dock at the boat ramp too. I try most times, not always, to stay away from the "pack". It can get pretty crazy when 10-12 boats are all fishing one area and people have different techniques. Go to Jordan and fish near the bridge when they are really biting and see what happens.

Glad it's an agreeable post. I was worried someone would misunderstand and slam me. I absolutely don't advocate fishing right on top of others. There are acres of water in the descriptions I gave. But if you come out of Merry Oaks cove and look around and see 10 anchored or slow trolling boats and 7 of them are fishing within shouting distance of each other there is usually a reason. Ignore the bank beaters in bass boats.

I'll be at Harris Saturday afternoon and Sunday afternoon. Just release the fish I've put my name on and we'll be good. lol

    Good luck when you go.
