Which boat is best really depends on where you are fishing. Big water or small.
Bass boats work great, so do rigged aluminum boats. I have both. Love the speed of the bass boat, but love the economy of the aluminum.
Have seen some awesome pontoon boats rigged for fishing, too.
Which one is better? The one I'm in at the time.

Yeah I'm mostly looking for a heavy boat for trolling and spider rigging. Was trying to compromise on smaller than what I want but gonna save up and try to get a 2005-2008 ranger 620vs got my mind set on it and I can take my dad and brother fishing at same time

I believe you're on the right track. Don't overlook the Stratos offerings in that same style of boat, seen a couple that were awful nice.

Give Carolina skiff boats a look. Wide beam, lots of room, good for spider rigging and great long line boat.CF

Research boats the Walleye guys use. Longlining is a key technique.
Aluminum deep V, tiller, 18-20'. Big water is not a problem. Check out the Alumacraft Competitors. Not a cheap boat, however it will be the last boat you buy.
The Alumacraft Dominator series is very popular with the Walleye guys. Again, not cheap, however it will handle everything you need.
As in most things, you get what you pay for.
IF you ever do sell the Alumacraft, you will get more in resale than the Ranger. Rangers are know to be inexpensive boats for a reason, they also don't hold resale value.
