Headed out to Pigeon this morning, it was looking rough for a while. I must have jigged a hundred lay downs and had one bass to show for it. About 1030 I was just about to give it up worried about possible rain storms, but I stopped in one more canal to try it out and got on a bite. They were nice size too, except for the few little guys pictured below (one with a racing stripe). I also wanted to show how good they were eating the jig. I see why JR calls that place Disneyland...it is endless beauty with endless spots to fish. Most of them were caught tight lining a 1/32 oz black/ chartruese tube. It was the first time I ever did any good tight lining...I see what the fuss is all about, I'm pretty sure I'm addicted...Thank you Jig Rig for the good reports, gave me the courage to go, and I learned a lot and had a great time!
Very nice! Enjoyed your pictures.

G.F.,
Looks like a good day to me! I love that place..., just don't fish it very often. But it is a beautiful and endless place to fish. Congrats on a nice catch. ..and thanks for the post!
Nice catch and super pix. I was mad all day for not going. We did not get the rain and the wind was calm.

Ditto what Danny said, I worked around the house realizing that at each passing minute the weather wasn't gonna be a bad as the weather men had predicted.
Nice going Cal, I wish that was a lot closer to Houma.
