Think I would run it by a dealer and let them put a reader on it. Should have registered a code.

Billbob and I was loaded and started out to do some miner fishing. As we backed out of the dock, buzzer and light activated. We spent the rest of the day trolling around Big Sandy and didn't git far from home. When we got back in and lifted the boat, Billbob pulled the cowl and checked oil. It was ok and the engine was peeing. We called it a day.
Next morning, we cranked up and everything was fine, but we didn't venture but a few miles from home (just in case). Dirt dobber, thermostat maybe? The pee stream from the 30hp Merc on the pontoon ain't near as strong as the 15 Merc on my Jon boat. Both four strokers.
Suggestions? What ya think? It is still under warranty.

I have a guess but I would also run it by a dealer. I know that on the bigger mercury motors, there is a prescreen for the impeller that can get dirty. Alot of mechanic shops don't even know about it. Not sure on a 30hp. Those infamouse beeps mean tons of different things. Best bet is a diagnostic check.

To the shop it will go after Christmas.

my Mercury 2 stroke did that once after hitting a bed of Grass,,,,,, I just slowed the boat to a stop, reversed engine and prop cleaned grass out and I was back in business.... I guess it Coukd have clogged something and the computer picked that out... Once it cleaned out, the motor worked fine ever since,,,sometimes I think computers can cause more worry then help,,,l
