General G.- I might have gotten a little off topic there but it seemed necessary considering the crisis that was brewing with OB using Texicans as his authority promoting bare headed jig use. Just seemed like someone had to see to the integrity of the Okie sites. Sorry if you were confused but I know you've got my back on this.

Same answer for so many questions- Ranger on Eufaula or any other body of water with crappie in it. By now I bet you have learned to self medicate on Texoma pretty effectively. I sure agree with your treatment plan- you sound better already![/QUOTE]

DG, I'm thinking I need a treatment today. Think I'll call my crappie buddy and see if he'll partner up with me this morning! I hate launching by myself when it's this cold. Seems I end up getting something wet that ain't supposd to be!

I paint all my jig heads. I do it mostly for myself (I like them pretty) and I probably have a small pyromania bug. Crappie avoid me like the plague (as much as like them) so I can't really tell whether or not it makes a difference.

I know that one lake I fish, I tie green chart feather jigs. The tail is two feathers olive and one feather either red or orange. In the spring the Orange catches faster and summer/fall the red catches faster. So one little feather a different color produces more fish. Now do you want to fish 4 hours or all day to get a mess? But I have some guys that only want unpainted because the tin shines and I beleive that helps on clear lakes. But most of my jig sales are painted heads. For me mostly painted but one lake unpainted. WSD went out today and he tried a super glow verses an unpainted and he caught more on the glow. We will play around more with glow colors and make sure it's not a fluke.
