So...I think I have everything I would need to build a minnow holding tank. My question, if I built one, how long can you keep minnows alive? 1 week? 2 weeks? 1 month? Just trying to figure out if the effort in assembling the dang thing would provide any real benefit. It is mighty easy to stop by Lakeway and pick up 50 on the way.......

Here is my experience. I have kept them up to 3 months with very little feed. I just feed them a very little gold fish food every other week. Just need to change the water every couple of weeks this time of year. Summer, more often. Big thing for me is the convenience. I go down to the shop, hook up boat, put minnows in bucket load in boat and I'm gone with out stoping for bait. Also if you go buy bait you can save them rather than dumping in the lake.

They do require a little attention every once in a while. If you are going to just put them in the tank and forget em till next trip you probably get 10 days to 2 weeks.

Mine is on a large raised covered deck, against the wall beside a frig on the south side of the house. When it gets warm it's harder to hold the temp down.
