By the way folks..... Guys with glass boats, I bought a keel guard (think that's how u spell it) and I beach my boat on the ramp all the time...... Keel guard is the only thing that touches...... I put in on my own all the time also..... Rope to front of trailer and other end to main eye of boat.... Back it off trailer, pull up till trailer is out and pull boat up onto concrete..... Go park and boat will be sitting right where you pulled it up on ramp........ That guard is awesome. I'd say for older fellas it may be hard to get on the boat standing on the ramp though..... I'm still fairly good shape so no problems yet. Regardless, pulling those ramps this early is redicous!!!!!

I stand corrected. I did get a response from Chad Smith and it was early on Monday morning. It was exactly the same as your response. I guess it was has standard answer for everyone.
I just wish who ever ran the park and made the decisions actually seemed to enjoy the outdoors and worked in our best interest.

Thank you for your recent comment regarding the courtesy docks at East Fork State Park. The courtesy docks were removed in an effort to reduce seasonal weather-induced damage and extend the life of the docks. This is a common practice at other Ohio State Parks.

Based on your valuable feedback, next week we will be reinstating the courtesy docks at the Tate Boat Ramp, located at 3294 Elklick Rd in Bethel, Ohio. The docks are expected to be ready for use starting November 18th. A concrete dock structure remains open and available for use at the boat ramp located off of State Route 222 at 2185 Slade Rd in Batavia, Ohio.

The courtesy docks at the North Shore Boat Ramp, located at 2837 Old State Route 32 in Batavia Ohio have been removed for the winter and much needed repairs.

Additional courtesy docks located in the East Fork Campground and off of Reisinger Rd near Bethel have been removed to avoid seasonal ice damage. Courtesy docks at all locations (North Shore, Campground and Reisinger) will be reinstalled in the Spring.
Future Courtesy dock status updates can be found at Runtime Error
Your safety and patronage are of utmost importance. Thank you for concern and for your continued interest in Ohio State Parks.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any additional comments or concerns.
    Sincerely,

    D. Chadwick Smith, CPM
    Park Manager

    Thanks for posting Michael.
I got that email yesterday too when I was out hunting.
I guess now that we are going to get the courtesy docks put back in it's time to send Chad an email thanking him for listening. I know I plan on fishing this year until the ice runs me off the lake.

Was on EFL again Saturday, 11/15. Was very cold, as you all know. Fished from 11-5. My partner and I caught about 65 crappie, a couple small largemouth, a catfish, and a couple striper. Fish were not bunched up. Kind of scattered. Found a good pattern mid afternoon. Biggest was a 13" white. Many fish over 11". A few nice blacks over 10". Was worth the numb fingers.

Nice report. It's definitely nice when it all comes together.
It seems to me the cold isn't so bad once you set the hook and you feel that crappie on the end of your line.
