Default Butt is on the grill!

Just put a 9lb. butt roast on the ole Master Built!Did something different this time. I brined the butt over night.I used salt, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, whole pepper corns, garlic, and onions quartered.Rubbed it good with Flavorama #5 and put it on the smoker at 5:30. Should be ready this afternoon!Curious to see how that brine does.Anyone have any feed back on brining or recipes for their favorite brine.I saw a video yesterday where a dude put apple cider vinegar in a spray bottle and was misting a butt all through it's cooking process before wrapping it with foil.Sure looked good when he pulled it off!

I'm sure it will be good. I've found that the Masterbuilt is so easy to cook with that it's hard to mess anything up. That brine mixture you've come up with sounds good.

I need your address Steve. Sounds like you're gonna need some company this afternoon.

One part soy- three parts apple juice are cider. Makes a great inject- marinade and spray. Brine works!

Thnx. for the feed back.Just wrapped it. Gonna slop some sauce on it here in a little while!Had a nice crust before I wrapped it.Cooked it at 250 this time from the start with apple juice in the pan. Put some Wickers basting sauce in the foil. Should be off in a little bit. Waiting for the bone to pull clean.Used hickory for the smoke!

Pulled it off the grill and let it rest for a hour! Beans with ground beef, slaw, and chocolate cake for dessert!
