Yes. Cranked it up. Topped off the low tire. A bit of oil and some gas on the way. A pack of ToasChee crackers and then.....
Ran some gas thru the hog. Stopped long enough to catch 7 crappie and one bass (who had a large worm hook in him. Not now). Sure felt good to get out for a bit. Lovely wife put the cornbread in the oven when I texted that I was loading up. Pinto beans and cornbread. And now a family movie. Darn nice Saturday. And I didn't park like this guy.
Hope all you guys are well.

... I'm like Bill ... it was several decades before I knew baked "cornbread", as I was always fed cornbread "fried" (pancake shaped) in an iron skillet with either bacon grease or lard or Crisco. No kernels of corn or "creamed corn" in it, either. I still prefer it cooked that way.

Maybe it's a regional thing. My whole family is from south Arkansas, and they all cook it in the oven. Going to have to try it that way. Anything fried in bacon grease has to be good.
Glad to see you out Dayton, nice catch and post.
Was raised on baked cornbread in Oklahoma. Got stationed in SC and married a gal from there. Fried cornbread, fried salt pork with pinto beans or blackeyed peas and collard greens. Still my favorite meal.
