I 100% agree! I would run straight to the battery with recommended inline fuse or circuit breaker. Or to a single master battery switch. Eliminate any uneeded connections and use dialectic grease and double heat shrink all connections.

Get this type fuse holder and wire direct to battery, coat fuse and rubber seal with Dialectric grease. Run 12 gauge wire to finder connection. Solder and heat shrink all connections.

That's kind of why I was hoping to clean that connectors, since I will need to replace the switches from time to time apparently.

If wiring direct to the battery is the way to go for the HB's why not for the other applications as well and eliminate the switches almost entirely?

HB's are very cantankerous about adequate and clean non-interrupted power...

My aerators and running lights might not notice a small power blip...

But the HB doesn't play well that way...

That's the only way to go.....No matter who's electronics you have, they don't like low voltage.

I would like to see them put a voltage boost circuit in the units, but even that won't help if your connections are not able to provide enough current.

Just because its worth mentioning, War Eagle is sending me all new switches for 861 -no charge. My boat is 3 yrs old in October. I really appreciate that!

Fretting is a big issue with boat electrical contacts. Cheap switches, connectors, etc are some of the fretting corrosion sponsors.

I have talked about fretting corrosion before.

WOW! I got my care pkg from War Eagle today. They sent all new switches as promised, but in addition they sent me all new wiring looms with multi-pin snap together jacks so that the terminal connectors would also be fresh. I am really impressed. The last thing they said to when they committed to send me the switches was: If there's anything else you need, don't hesitate to call. I am impressed.
