Default Ok been out checking and working on new boat, was checking navigation lights

and my stern/anchor light is way to tall and wont fit in under my rod racks I have mounted in my shop. So I went to WM and picked up a new Attwood Stern light and plugged it in,it will not work in the plug. I notice that the plug in the boat has 2 pins and a hole where it looks like a 3rd pin may have been. I pulled the plug out and it only has 2 wires feeding the light. The Attwood light has3 brass connectors (holes) in the bottom of the light. Anyone got any insight to what or why this light will not work ? do I need a new plug for the boat ? do I need to look for a different light. Also, I move the front light (red and green) to the back in it works just as it does in the front. Im confused

Larry, can you remove the light it's self from the end of the pole? If so just pull it off cut wires, then cut pole down to size, splice wires and reinstall light.

Drill the rivet and just run a screw in it after you cut it down
