    Default crappie jigs

I like jigs like the slab daddy jig, but no place to buy them except online around me. I brought some new jigs from grandpa bob, which are nice, but order time was pretty long to get them delivered. No real issues with the slab daddy, other than I'd like some colors they don't make.

Anyone know where I can get similar jigs in less than a month? I've looked at thump-it jigs, and been meaning to order from him. Had a order all set to go, and he had something come up and we never got back to the order. I've heard his jigs are great, but if anyone has any other suggestions I'd appreciate it.

You can find most things at Bass Pro in Clarksville, might be worth a run. They are pretty close for me.

Is it the "fluffier" body that you prefer on the Slab Daddys? If not, I can turn you on to some great feather and hair jigs. I've caught over 100 fish on the same jig, and they have a variety of color combos. www.notheadtackle.com

They aare a very simple jig to make, you may want to repost in the jig tying/making forum and I am sure some members can steer you in the right direcction or towards a custom jig maker that can give any color, color combo your heart desires.

I do like the chenille body, but I'm not against trying straight hair or feather. Last jigs I brought have a thinner body, haven't had a chance to fish them. Have some straight hair and feather jigs as well, hoping to try them out tonight.

Was hoping to get a few names of custom jig makers that people have ordered from in this thread, kinda my intention. I could do them myself, but mostly I just make my own bass jigs. Crappie fishing is maybe 20 trips a year thing for me, so willing to spend a little more to have someone make them for me. Last order took way longer than I wanted, though the jigs look nice. Right now I'm kinda in a crappie fishing mood, will be off and on into october. Mostly just cast and tight line jigs, and most of the time it isn't a planned trip. Just happens when I'm out fishing and I see crappie on the electronics, and feel like a change of pace.

Of course this week I'm feeling like crappie fishing.

I buy all my Slab Daddy jigs at my local Wal-Mart, but maybe yours does not carry them. You can order them online and have them shipped to the store for free. That is if you have one near you, and most of us Americans do now days. Here is a link to check them out online at Wal-Mart. I know my local store will also special order things for me they do not normally carry if I see it on their site.
